And when does it close for each year? The deadline for the 2020-21 FAFSA® is June 30, 2020. The deadline for the 2021-22 FAFSA® is June 30, 2021.

What is FAFSA?

The FAFSA is the only application you need to apply for federal student aid. The earlier you apply, the better your chance of receiving more grants and scholarships! The FAFSA Scholarship Search tool is the quickest way to search for federal aid. Simply fill out the FAFSA at www.fafsa.gov to get started searching for scholarships and more than 49,000 grants, loans and work-study opportunities.

The FAFSA is the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, and it’s the first step that most students take to receive financial aid. Your FAFSA should be completed as soon after January 1 as possible, so that you can receive funding before your classes start – and there are deadlines for each type of student (4-year college or graduate school). Here’s what you need to know about crafting an effective FAFSA!

The FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) is the form used by colleges and universities to determine how much grant, loan and work-study assistance your family might qualify for. To be considered for grant aid, your parent’s income and asset information will be taken into consideration. Continuing students must file the FAFSA each year to ensure that their financial need continues to be met throughout their college career. If you’re a first-time applicant, visit www.fafsa4casterannualapplicant.com and select 2022 – 2023 to start completing your application. But remember: You must complete it by March 30 in order to receive federal aid for the following school year (October 1 through September 30).

How to apply to FAFSA

Students and parents can print their Financial Aid applications online and submit them to the federal government using the FAFSA Student Portal. If you file your application by midnight on March 11, you will receive a letter from us confirming the date that your application was received by our office. This letter will also contain your Student Aid Report (SAR), which is a record of the information included in your FAFSA application and any corrections we made in processing it. After receiving all necessary information and correcting any errors, we are ready to award student aid funds.

Deadline For FAFSA

The deadline for filing the FAFSA is March 15 of each year. If you are eligible for financial aid, you should file your FAFSA to be considered for grants and loans that do not have to be repaid by July 15.
